Sudarsani Eye Hospital, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India is an exclusive eye hospital established on the 24th of April 1970. With more than 35 years of experience in the field of eye care, this hospital is started as SUDARSANI EYE CLINIC, by Dr G Parandhamaiah, doing only intracapsular cataract extraction with capsular forceps and other simple procedures. It has transformed, slowly upgrading itself into Sudarsani Eye Hospital, in the start of the new millennium in October 2000, with all the modern equipment and expertise to do all the latest in eye care. The up gradation at Sudarsani Eye Hospital is a continuous process happening daily, keeping in mind the ethical practice of eye care and not the commercial aspect of a procedure. It has been the motto at Sudarsani Eye Hospital, Guntur to provide "QULAITY EYE CARE" to all.

Founder Sudarsani Eye Clinic in 1970, has always believed in providing QUALITY EYE CARE to one and all. The Director of the institute now is Dr G Rajesh, son of Dr G Parandhamaiah, and specializing in Phacoemulsification. He has developed his interest in ophthalmology right from his medical school at Guntur Medical College, Guntur, India, where he has passed out of medical school as a gold medallist and best out going student in ophthalmology bagging the prestigious Dr P Siva Reddy Endowment Medal from the Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences, Hyderabad, in 1993, receiving the award from the then Health Minister of the State. He has done his post graduation from the prestigious Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai, India, receiving his Diploma in ophthalmology from Dr M G R Medical University, Chennai, India and later his masters' degree in ophthalmology from National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, India. He worked at Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai as a consultant and later went to UK to have exposure on the international platform. He had his exposure at various hospitals in UK, Royal Bolton Hospital, Bolton, Eye and Ear Infirmary, Manchester, Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, Edinburgh, Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester. He is very active in providing quality eye care at Sudarsani Eye Hospital since 2000. He is also actively involved in doing charity work to poor patients. He is the Chairman of Avoidable Blindness of Rotary district 3150.

Dr. Durga Chaitanya, wife of Dr G Rajesh, is well trained in ophthalmology at Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai. She received her Diploma in Ophthalmology from Dr M G R University, Chennai, India and her masters' degree in ophthalmology from National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. She is also trained in Retina Lasers at Aravind Eye Hospital, Coimbatore, India. She is trained in the Management of Eye Bank at Sri Ramayamma International Eye Bank, at L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India and established Dr Smitha Sriman Memorial Eye Bank at Sudarsani Eye Hospital, Guntur in the name of her sister. She is also trained by Sight Savers, UK, in the management of Retinopathy of Prematurity at L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad and also had her training in Low Visual Aids at the same institute. She is heading the retina department at Sudarsani Eye Hospital.
